Seward Highway / 92nd Avenue Grade Separation
DOT&PF Project No. 59770
The 92nd Avenue Grade Separation Design Services project includes design and construction of a grade-separated crossing at Seward Highway and 92nd Avenue, providing new access to the Old Seward Highway/Dimond Boulevard commercial district.
The project funded by a $20 million state grant received in 2007 got underway in May 2008. Two projects are envisioned as shown in the graphics below. The current project provides access to the Seward Highway from the west. A follow on, future project will complete the crossing of the Seward Highway and connect to Vanguard. Construction of the current project is anticipated to begin in 2014.
The Municipality of Anchorage has a companion project to evaluation how to connect Vanguard with Abbott Loop once this connection is made. Information on the Municipality’s project can be found at www.academyandvanguard.com.
